Can
you believe it? Only a couple of weeks
until Ground Hog day, we are getting closer to Spring. The winter has been really mind here in
Southern Michigan. I hope the same
weather pattern continues for the rest of the season.
I
would like to offer my sympathy to the family and friends of June Nazer who
passed away on January 16that the age of 91. June was La Grande Presidente de Michigan in 1978-79.
June will be missed by us all.
We
have received our official notice from Nationale that La Nationale Presidente
Sandy Wood has accepted our invitation to attend our Grande Rendezvous in
Lansing 2012. Let’s all work hard on our year end reports to show Sandy how
hard our Michigan Dames work!
All
Locales should have received information from Cabane Nationale about a
resolution that will be coming to all Grande Rendezvous in 2012. The resolution will be for an OPTIONAL Jr.
Dames addition to our Cabane Locales.
This Jr. Dame Concept would make it possible for many of our member’s
daughters and granddaughters, nieces and great-nieces, an opportunity for
membership. Proposed age limits for the
Jrs would be age 12 through 17. The Jr
would have to be sponsored by a Cabane Locale member. They would be an unstructured extension of
the Cabane Locale for support purposes only and with no elections, officers and
no voting strength. The Jrs would not be
chartered. They would only be allowed to attend Cabane Locale Rendezvous. Limited records would be maintained for the Jr.’s
– name, age and Cabane only. The Cabane
Locale would buy membership cards and report the name and age of each Jr. in
July of each year at the cost of $2.00 each.
Please be sure to discuss this at your Locale Rendezvous and bring your
questions to Grande Rendezvous for discussion.
